Well, cut it out.” Believe me, it is harder to not be a misanthropic old grouch than to lose weight AND stop smoking. Here’s my suggestion, no charge: read a lot more books, and watch a lot less TV. But mostly books written before the Nixon presidency; writing went to pot after that.
